Review of Agora (2009) by Kaarina P — 23 May 2011
Lovely intimate movie about the the famed mathematican and philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria who strove to perserve knowledge in the face of religous zealotism and persue her own studies regarding the nature of the universe.
No flashy special effects or action scenes but a quiet and involving movie about one womans passion for freedom and knowledge. Stick around for the documentry on Alexandria that is featured on the DVD as well.
