Review of Agora (2009) by Brett C — 27 Aug 2011
A passionate movie about science and how it works, even though set in early 5th century Alexandria. Rachel Weisz is tremendous as the philosopher Hypatia, caught between religious fundamentalism of pagans and christians, who also had blindspots about slavery and the music of the spheres.
Beautifully filmed.
