Review of Agora (2009) by Spyros T — 20 Jun 2012
I was disappointed with Agora, but I think it's only because it came to me so highly recommended. It's not a bad film, but I just have a special intolerance for historical films when they make everything too contemporary.
It has a powerful message against fundamentalism and it's a compelling, intelligent story but the execution is a mess. Weisz is not bad and Marianelli's score is the best thing in this debacle.
