Review of Agora (2009) by Timothy R — 22 Jan 2013
Rachel Weisz is outstanding here, however, as is the way of many historical epics, the acting from the supporting cast is quite lame. Maybe it's due to the array of accents and modern language in what is meant to be Roman occupied Egypt.
Still, it is an interesting political film. It has a very engaging final 20 minutes but the 90-minute lead up to that part of the film just feels flat.
