Review of Agnes of God (1985) by David T — 16 Aug 2007
I'm rewatching this after encountering it in high school English -- really disappointing. The critique of religion is inept, the dialogue is terrible, and Fonda's performance is over the top. The director even misuses Anne Bancroft, which is inexcusable.
Visually, it's rather interesting, culminating in the imagery of the second hypnosis sequence. But all in all, worth missing.
