Review of Agneepath (2012) by Soumyajit M — 27 Jan 2012
Agneepath, is the glowing example of what Bollywood does best, produce melodramatic, over the top, cliche'd movies. The fight sequences are stretched, the songs cropping up at unnecessary places. The result: these detours hamper and hinder the story.
The acting is quite convincing, but Priyanka Chopra's part has been reduced to nothing more than an arm candy. Only present when the songs require her to dance, and at crucial points, which would'nt have been possible without her.
The last fight sequence between the two characters of Vijay and Kancha, is nothing if not unrealistic. A no brains movie, yet a crowd pleaser, in these harsh times of Bollywood, when there is a dearth of movies.
