Against the Ropes certainly describes Meg Ryan's career is she has been reduced to doing these types of movies. The sort-of true story of a women boxing promoter is a huge waste of time and energy for the one-time "A" list actress.
This film is ridiculously bad. The plot is stupid. The dialog is marginal at best. The acting (even Ryan's) is horrible. This movie isn't good enough for the USA Network let alone the theaters.
Skip it if you value your time.
