Leading up to this film, I was preparing for it to be one of the best comedies of the new year for me, but as it turns out, this straight to DVD, Steven Seagal starring horror film wound up being not bad at all.

Taking this film very seriously, director Richard Crudo brings us a post-apocalyptic world where infected zombie vampire ghoul hybrids (this is one small flaw because there is no decisive term for these things) have taken over and are hellbent on draining the human world of all it's blood and body limbs.

The film is broken up into three sections: the first has survivors trying to make their way out of a hospital without being seen or eaten (which apparently takes all night thanks to a failing generator apparently), the second is a group of hunters making their way through the streets and into the hospital that chop up and kill everything they see (Steven Seagal is the leader, along with a dude who's a cross between The Rock and Schwarzenegger [turns out, this guy is The Rock's cousin, ha!]), and the third section involves the military base prepping to bomb the hospital.

Some familiar faces show up on the base in the form of Keith David (The Thing) and Linden Ashby (Johnny Cage from the Mortal Kombat films). All in all, this film wasn't too bad. Lots of action, lots of gore, plenty of so-so acting with some corny ass lines.

Truly, this wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, though there were some interesting points. First, the killings were very slim up until the last 20 minutes of the film. These infected zombie vampire ghoul hybrids are either very lazy of very lucky.

Second, I have NEVER seen so many instances of people leaving others behind. It was hilarious. Hell, Seagal wasn't even that bad, though he wasn't really a main figure in the move. Worth a rental, I'd say.
