Review of Aftershock (2012) by Karan M — 08 Aug 2013
Far from a great movie but it's something you watch when you want something gory and fun to watch in an hour and a half. Eli Roth has disappointed one to many times before but this isn't really one of them.
For whatever reason, his "Last Exorcism 2" got a wide release and not this? That's ridiculous on more then one level and although I love to "Saw" franchise, I never ever liked "Hostel" (produced by Eli & Quentin Tarrentino) aka a rip off of something already done.
Well with "Aftershock". the characters are dumb and uninteresting as is in any other horror movie but a good majority of the movie is gruesome with some cool original death sequences. It'll entertain you for the length of the movie.
It's worth a rent or Netflix watch. And for the people that get offended by every little thing, there is a very unnecessary rape scene but if you can't handle intense gore, this isn't for you.
