Review of After the Wedding (2006) by Duwi P — 11 Dec 2007
Talented Filmmaker Susanne Bier readied with total perspicacity over the human emotions created this evoking picture sensationally and capriciously far from cheap platitudes as the story was completely unpredictable and kept you guessing.
Mads Mikkelsen once again proved to me that he is a rare performer to find as well as a very fulfilling actor and he would definitely climb quickly to my favorite actors list. As like Bier's latest movie "Things We Lost In The Fire", she uses a lot of close up shots to radiate the emotion more effectively through the screen and because this movie is also a study of the human feelings as it goes through certain unexpected events, she essentially delivered the message perfectly.
While it is not necessarily a weepie movie, After The Wedding delivers a lot of poetic looks at character developments which surely caught my intention.
