Review of After the Wedding (2006) by Laura C — 08 Jan 2008
A satisfying Danish treat that packs a powerful emotional wallop. The Jorgen-Anna scene will totally yank at your heartstrings.
***SPOILER ALERT***.
I'm not quite sure why Jorgen put all his trust and money into a total stranger (Anna has some say, but she's young). I mean, what if Jacob turned out to be a drunken a-hole who squandered away all the money? It's assuming that the wife and kids would be completely helpless without a man in their life. Some of that dough could be put in a trust fund and there'd still be plenty leftover for the orphanage. But what am I talking about, then there'd be no drama and this is a movie and this is why I love movies. And it turned out that Jacob was a pretty decent guy, not to mention one of Denmark's most sexiest men, according to the Danish polls :).
