Review of After the Wedding (2006) by Nalina M — 18 Mar 2008
What a weird movie. What could I call it?: uber-lowkey thriller? It's slow, sometimes almost to the point of boredom, but never quite tips over the line and the question of what is really going on between these people keeps nagging at you so you never give up on the film even when it bogs down.
It was interesting...different from other movies I have seen in a kind of indefinable way, and yet, on the surface, nothing out of the ordinary aside from a kind of twisted plot line. Maybe it was just that all the characters were so unappealing, yet appealing.
...or at least engrossing; I can't say engaging. Absolutely worth a look, but it will make you furrow your brow a bit.
