Review of After the Thin Man (1936) by Nathanael B — 31 May 2007
Tires itself out trying to chase down more scenes of business and schtick to fit in before closing time... The film works as entertainment because Powell, not unwisely in the circumstances, gets his drink on very early and spends most of his scenes in a haze that's only slightly more nebulous than what passes for a plot; when he's required to sober up, it's just another murder-mystery.
