Review of After the Thin Man (1936) by Morris N — 18 Dec 2008
In some ways stronger, in some ways weaker, than the first one. The banter and chemistry between Powell and Loy is kicked into high gear, we get to meet some of Nora's family (and the fact that they hate Nick).
We get Jimmy Stewart as a supporting character, probably one of his first roles, I would guess. There is more of the dog, unfortunately. The scenes with Asta and the terrier from next door feel more like something from a Little Rascals short or Blondie.
Good news, though...they don't have the baby yet. That kid hurts all the other sequels.
