Review of After Hours (1985) by Damjan R — 17 Dec 2013
A quirky and interesting little film from a big time director. Scorsese's signature style is on display here, but not as abundantly as in his more well known films. The story is really what drives the film.
I liked its statement about randomness and predestined fates, while also conceptualizing routine and its prison. Certainly it's a film you will talk about after you see it. Perhaps it could have been somewhat shorter, but again a case can be made that it's not even 'film' worthy, that it's a sketch, but I enjoyed it very much, especially the button at the end.
Recommended for everyone in a routine.
