Review of After Hours (1985) by Drew T — 13 Oct 2008
What seems like a one-joke black comedy would have wound up being exactly that in a lot of directors' hands, is instead a bizarre, intense, brutally funny film that explores new territory at every plot turn.
All thanks to Scorsese, and an eager Dunne as the ordinary guy who has the worst night of his life and eventually just wants to go home. A fantastic cast of adept character actors and a theme of experiencing disastrous circumstances with a humorous outlook are among the film's best features.
