Review of After Hours (1985) by Elina H — 11 Apr 2010
Odd film for Martin Scorsese, but enjoyable nonetheless. A masterly crafted New York nightmare starring Griffin Dunne (pluck your eyebrows please) as a yuppie who goes across town one night to get his swerve on with an odd woman he met at a coffee shop.
From there on it's a series of unfortunate events with all sorts of colorful characters. Fun cast all around. Marty deserved an Oscar nomination for his crazy camera tricks & creating an atmosphere that came so close to resembling an actual nightmare.
I didn't particularly care for the ending though. I don't think there really was a good way to end this film though.
