Review of After Earth (2013) by Mark K — 14 Apr 2015
After Earth is a difficult movie to watch as it is built around two actors who struggle to act a drop of emotion into their characters. The Smith father and duo are very emotionless, wooden, and basic in a movie that is already pulling at strings to hold together a story.
The back-drop and story itself are very predictable and similar to a large variety of other and better films. After Earth brings nothing new to the cinema, except another example of M.Night Shyamalan's poor directing skills.
This film is rampant with plot flaws, and scarce of strong writing.
