Review of African Cats (2011) by Lezlee H — 03 May 2011

It felt like I had seen some of the footage elsewhere before. I thought this was engaging enough if you like this sort of thing (and I normally do). Beautifully shot, I do think the 'G' rating hurts the film a little here - the scenes where something potentially disturbing are happening are edited or omited completely which left it feeling a little too scrubbed for my taste.

However, if I had little kids who wanted to go I would have been grateful for that, so that's probably not a realistic viewpoint considering it's a disney movie and intended for kids. As it was, I took my teens with me and they were slightly bored.

My son said he liked the Planet Earth series better.
