Review of African Cats (2011) by Andrew S — 25 Oct 2011
Great visuals of the animals and the African backdrop, but let down by the script's propensity to anthropomorphize each and every action the beautiful creatures make. By attributing courage, love and complex scheming to natural instinct and survival behaviours, the film chooses to weave together a story of two mothers' greatness and the ruthless conquest of a kingdom, instead of presenting a perfectly coherent tale where the fittest survive.
