Top-notch performances by Nick Nolte and James Coburn in this chilling and bleak tale of the ways in which psychological abuse can trickle down through family relationships. This movie is all about emotional isolation.
Watch it on a dark, snowy winter night for optimal effect. The wife and I watch this one at least annually, preferably during a deep winter snowfall.
