Review of Adventures in Babysitting (1987) by Alan D — 03 Sep 2009
Chris Columbus's directorial debut, and probably his second best film next to home alone. adventures in baby sitting is remarkably dark for a kids movie. its packed full of off the wall humor, including some fantastic Thor references, blues singers "who wont let you leave unless you sing the blues" and gangsters who want their play boy back.
the music is great, it even includes a stones song! and its a kids movie for Christ's sake! it's really well shot and is actually a little reminiscent of scorsese's "after hours".
As with all "up all night movies" its best served way past bed time. Adventires in babysitting is An underrated 80's classic.
