Review of Adventures in Babysitting (1987) by Not Your Average Whore — 07 Aug 2008
Extremely entertaining 80's comedy that is somewhat of an "After Hours" for the teen audience. Elizabeth Shue is at the top of her game and her plight is almost nightmarish. Penelope Ann Miller gets a few very funny scenes as Shue's stranded friend Brenda, who has run away from home but is stuck in the bus station meeting all kinds of kooks and nuts.
There's some really great, funny moments here, the highlight being Shue and her young charges having to perform an improvisational blues song when they stumble into a night club while evading two criminals.
Adventures in Babysitting is a highly entertaining and fun little movie that you'll be glad you saw...I promise!
