Jesse Eisenberg reminded us both of Alan Davies, not a bad thing. It's one of those teenage rites of passage American movies. It's funny, and for a time one can forget how stereotypical all the characters are.
In the end it's a teen romance with a happily ever after denouement. On the way there, it's good on casual marijuana use and casual sex. We liked it, a box of chocolates in cinematic form. A little over-indulgent, a little fattening, and probably bad for one's teeth :).
