Review of Adventureland (2009) by Pittaya S — 30 Jul 2011
This is my growing up: The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, shitty job, longing after a woman I will never get, a good friend that shares my interests, Russian Literature (Gogol in this case), annoying girls who think they own the world, strange nights involving pools, a lot of weed .
. .where do I end? This is a skewed version of my post-college years when I was still an infant in many ways. Mottola hasn't crafted a movie as good as 'Superbad' but damn did he come close.
This movie could have been perfect if it was not for the forced, pathetic, and unrealistic ending. Still a lot of fun with Eisenberg, that pretty girl from those 'Twilight' movies, and BILL from 'Freaks & Geeks', Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig.
Check this one out, just have something to bite hard into when the ending comes.
