Review of Adrift (2018) by Greg P — 31 May 2018
A powerful film that grabs you and doesn't let you go. I've read criticisms that it can't decide whether it's a love story or a tale of survival. I think quite obviously it's both. Ultimately it's about the power of the human spirit.
A visually stunning and gripping film. It's a very different cinematic experience compared to the rest of what's out there at the moment. A refreshing change of pace. Also, a wonderfully understated soundtrack which heavily features Tom Waits.
Always a plus in my book!
