Review of Adoration (2009) by Pam C — 30 May 2009
Cinematic hubris plagues this auteur's fizzly, characterless wack-fest. For handling of sexuality, prefer Almodóvar (for its "What is reality and what just ain't?" guesswork, Adoration is like a rework of Bad Education, which is not good).
For flashback storytelling, prefer Arundhati Roy's first novel. For Egoyan, prefer Exotica (and not The Sweet Hereafter). If only this was Dogma 95 and he hadn't credited himself, we'd have stayed home.
