Review of Adoration (2009) by Madeline M — 18 Dec 2009
Same Atom Egoyan's as usual: camera moves sloooooooooooooow, with a incidental violin music in the background, until there's one shot of his wife and muse, Arsinée Khanjian. The rest of the cast is simply circumstantial. Result is a bizarre conjunction of stories about intolerance and beliefs.
A teenager writes a play in school based on his parents' life and death and suddenly that triggers a wider discussion that involves more of other people's points of views than actual facts.
At the same time, some family secrets may come in the way, as the uncle who raised the teen since his parent's died, gets questioned by the drama teacher, who seems to know more than she pretends.
