Review of Admission (2013) by Jim L — 30 Jul 2013
This movie works a lot better as a drama than a comedy, as this film did not make me laugh as much as they wanted it to. Tina Fey and Paul Rudd do play their parts properly, albeit a little bit forced, especially with Tina Fey's character's Bree Van de Kemp vibe, and the premise is heartwarming.
Why it did not work was because this movie tried too hard to be funny in situations it did not need to be, and its predictability in even the most suspenseful parts of the film took away from it. A good light-hearted film with little to take out of it, unfortunately.
