Review of Admission (2013) by Sandy K — 12 Nov 2013
Despite it's extremely likeable leads and a decent premise, Admission ends up being a rather bland affair. It's not that it's bad, and it has a certain charm, but it's really no better than a generic sitcom, just maybe acted a little better.
There's potential here, but it doesn't go anywhere with that potential, and falls into an abyss of "meh." Fey and Rudd are two actors who will always be enjoyable to spend time with, and they make it a "nice" movie (for want of a better word), just not a good one.
With a better script and a more inspired director, it could have been something, but as it is there's no reason it shouldn't be lost in the sea of forgettable releases.
