Review of Admission (2013) by Georgia F — 06 Jan 2014
When it comes to any film, it can have a fantastic cast and a great script, a mediocre cast and good script, and any combination inbetween. But sometimes, there are the films that just have a bad, cheesy idea on paper, but you give it a shot because the two leads are exceptional and they give it their all.
Admission follows an uptight admissions officer who takes to a former classmate and head of a school. Paul Rudd and Tina Fey are great in this. As expected, they have great chemistry and are very likeable.
However, the overly predictable story and poor execution of the screenplay make it almost unbearable to watch. The jokes...are there..maybe? They're flat, bland, and more cheesey than is to be expected.
To the point where you don't even laugh or crack a smile for an extremely long time. If you like Paul Rudd and Tina Fey, I suggest literally almost any of their other films. If you want one with them together as the leads, well, start hoping for some greener grass on the other side.
