Review of Admission (2013) by Jim H — 20 Jun 2014
Tina Fey has perfected and has become the en vogue girl for the "snarky/clunky/aloof yet sexy" persona. Paul Rudd has done a good job of perfecting the "aw shucks but I'm funny" persona as well.
That was apparently supposed to be the recipe for success in this comedy. Problem is, this comedy can't decide whether he wants to be a comedy or a drama. Tina and Paul play their personas as if it were a comedy, but then run aground every time it becomes dramatic.
So for the future, Tina and Paul don't need to question whether or not they stay in their characters; they need to question what roles they take.
