Review of Admission (2013) by Heidi R — 29 Oct 2013
Paul Rudd is one of my favourite actors, and Tina Fey, well...not as much, though I haven't watched enough of her to join the overwhelming ranks of her supporters. Based on this, I won't be. I mean she's obviously smart, and sure, there's funny bits, but this movie is just yawn.
Almost embarassingly paper thin. If you haven't figured it out in the first 20 minutes, you might want to check your pulse. The best part might be Lily Tomlin as Fey's feminist mother...but I still love Rudd, however, there's nothing here for him or Fey to really get you interested in, and this seems like such a waste of good talent.
Nothing is wrong per se, it just didn't hold my attention or have me rooting for any characters...couldn't figure if it was trying to be a comedy or an after school special with soap opera style characters.
..Miss this, they've both done far better work, and I hope they get to do something together again...a waste.
