Review of Addams Family Values (1993) by Ryan S — 12 Aug 2010
One of the rare sequels that surpasses the first film. I liked the first one, but I just felt the plot lacked depth and it could have been better overall... and they did just that in this one. A better plot, as well as a great sub-plot with Wednesday and Pugsley, that is more interesting and a lot funnier.
The characters have seemed to develop more and are much more like the original characters, which is great. Only one character was replaced, which was Carol Kane as Grandmama, which wasn't a big change and I think she played the role just as well.
Also, the new addition of Joan Cusack's character was great as well as all the overly cheery and quite annoying characters at the camp. Very entertaining movie and if you're only going to watch one of the Addams Family movies, this is probably your best bet, although the first one is good too.
