How can impressionable teenage girls not just fall in love with Wednesday? How can impressionable young women not fall in love with Gomez Addams' moustache? What the film lacks in authenticity to the Charles Addams comics it certainly makes up in spirit.
Yes Hollywood tends to puke all over everything in its over the top psychotic approach to adaptations, especially when they're geared towards kids but in all fairness I think they got most of the movie right.
Take a look at such other adaptations like The Flintstones and just think of what the movie could have been. One thing I can say that is 100% right, is the cast! They really do make the film for me on top of all of the darkly comical antics.
