Review of Addams Family Values (1993) by Andrew G — 09 Jun 2010
I've got problems with it, but it's a decent film. My thoughts on the original Addams Family film are clear: IT SUCKED!! This one still has some of the things I disliked about the original, such as some bad jokes and the kid playing Pugsley really getting on my nerves, but it has some moments of decency.
Raul Julia stole every scene he was in, but he's the best bit of the film. He's so passionate about playing Gomez, and it's fun just to watch him. I love the whole back story of the Nanny.
The scene where she states that she killed her parents because they bought her a Malibu Barbie had my rolling on the floor. Also, there's some more mature humour in this film, and it doesn't shy away from it.
However, it soon degenerated into typical family fare which shouldn't be the case for the Addams Family.
