Kaufman keeps you on your toes with this film, making guess what is real, what is the film, and god knows what else. He is truly a talented and inventive film-maker (making up a twin brother?!) and proved that with 'Malkovich,' this, 'Eternal Sunshine,' and 2008's 'Synecdoche, New York.
' 'Adaptation' is just great, though, intertwining many aspects into one while still coming out with a hilarious, touching, and dramatic film.
