This could quite possibly be the weirdest movie I have ever seen. And I've seen Donnie Darko, Terry Gilliam movies, and Doc Savage. What it does is brilliantly convey self-doubt and loathing. I think at one time or another, all of us have thought what poor Charlie Kaufman thinks throughout the movie about himself.
Chris Cooper deserved the Oscar he received.
