Kaufman's most intense and personal creation, it is also one of his funniest. And make no mistake, this is Kaufman's creation on screen. One of the most original films of the 00s, "Adaptation" is a poignant study not only of creative blocks, but of carving a place for yourself in the world.
Performances by Nicholas Cage, Meryl Streep, and Chris Cooper are wonderful.
