Review of Adam's Rib (1949) by Scratch M — 21 Jan 2009
Mostly I loved it. However, Hepburn's character didn't do either herself or the feminist cause any favors by playing so fast and loose with the legal system. Her theatrical demonstrations were just stupid, and would never have flown in a real courtroom.
The foundations of her arguments were all inherently flawed. So I loved her feminism, but agreed with her husband's arguments. That's both good and bad for the audience to experience. Otherwise, great wit.
I recommend watching this movie slightly fast-forwarded.
