Review of Adam Resurrected (2008) by Jon-James H — 28 Jun 2012
An almost perfect fairytale. Director, Paul Schrader, presents a captivating modern day fable, without falling foul of the formulaic Hollywood trap. Goldblum is captivating in a role tailored made for his peculiar charismatic persona, a lifetime best for him.
Watch the fantastic direction/camerawork that mimics the mind of the asylum's residents; a very subtle touch that breathes life into all the scenes shot there, and presents a stark contrast with the film's horrible reality.
Adam Resurrected stays true to its genre throughout, keeps you guessing till the end, is full of magnificent, well-acted characters, works on a variety of layered plots, and never, for one moment, fails to impress.
