Review of Active Measures (2018) by Chris H — 31 Aug 2018
This movie covers a lot of ground quickly but has the advantage of an incredibly rich compliment of pictures and video that puts you in the room as Putin calls the rising businessmen of post Soviet Russia cockroaches and demands fealty.
The footage of John McCain carries extra gravitas because he is no longer with us. McCain is exasperated but calm. He holds the line, He is clear where the line is and he is unafraid to back allies who are on the precipice of Russian aggression.
Hillary Clinton tells a story of Vladimir Putin's father at the outset of the film that sets the tone in the most stark way possible. This film will be hard to dismiss by skeptics of Trump Russia because so much of it takes place on screen.
This complex story comes urgently to life before your eyes and at the end you realize Russia is actively at war with the US and the western alliance and at the highest levels of our government they are pretending everything is fine.
The house is on fire. This film is the fire alarm. Every American needs to see this film immediately. I'm not kidding.
