Review of Act of Valor (2012) by Joe J — 03 Aug 2012
Starring active-duty Navy SEALS, "Act of Valor" centers around the rescue of a captive CIA agent, which propels them into a bigger threat to America - a drug cartel in Mexico is working with a Muslim extremist to unleash fear and terror in America with a new kind of bomb that is undetected by security devises. Now the SEALS have to track down this band of terrorists before their evil plan comes to fruition.
Typically I would mock a movie that has horrible acting, but these aren't normal actors - they're active SEALS. They aren't trying to make names for themselves in Hollywood, but they want to show the general public a little peek inside their world and what dangers they face every day. Even though the film was completely scripted, it centered around an actual threat America has faced, and the action in the film is nothing short of exceptional, and it showcases the best side of the SEALS. A pure adrenaline rush from start to finish.
