The execution is as bad as the concept; the narrative is bland, and the acting is, as expected, truly terrible. Even the intention of the filmmakers to depict a "realistic" war movie by casting active-duty Navy SEALs is undercut by the fact that it is shot like a typical Hollywood action movie, with frantic camera-work and CGI effects galore, making Act of Valor feel about as "realistic" as Call of Duty.
