Review of Act of Valor (2012) by Nicholas C — 13 Apr 2013
A CIA agent, an American citizen, is captured by terrorists overseas and the Navy SEALS are sent to rescue her. Not sure why so many feel that this is somehow grossly overstepping our bounds as a military.
Further, many critics seem absolutely put off that hero and villain alike lack sufficient character development. This is a movie about the execution of various missions not personal dramas. What's more contrived, searching for complex, internal turmoil or portraying people who are satisfied with getting the mission done with as little focus on their own issues as possible?
