Though off to a promising start with cool and frantic action scenes, the plot gets lost amid cliche dialogue and a dislike for the American characters; not because they're ignorant people, but because they're not interesting or fresh.

The scene in the swamp shack-compound is really cool and looks real, but the dizzying cinematography and a loss of purpose (the poster said "This is not a video game" yet there is shots from a soldier's perspective, much like a game) makes Act of Valor a dull watch.
