Finally checked this film out on Valentine's day, and after many.

Mixed reviews I can finally submit my own. I love this film! Now the only real negative I found with it, was the literal usage of the Beatles' lyrics for example the main character's Jude and Lucy. The songs are on the better side of song 'covers' or the original considering how many bad one's are out there. The story plops us in the middle of the 1960's, in my opinion one of the most interesting and important decades of the 21st century. Our character's run into a slew of different faces who all entertain us with different renditions of fantastic Beatles songs. My favorite scene of the movie is the song use of She's so Heavy including military singers with prosthetic masks meant to look like cookie cutter grunts or better yet a typical G.I Joe doll. All I can say is that I wish I had caught this one on the big screen, but even on the small one, this film proves substantial and important and a wonderful tribute to the greatest band ever. The cast is wonderful, especially leads Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachel Wood that give us a glimpse into what I am sure will be very successful careers.

In the wake of mediocre musicals, a genre I have little taste for, it is a great surprise that one is so amazing.

A definite must see.
