Review of Across the Universe (2007) by Marlene M — 16 Sep 2015
I know there are a lot of Beatles fans out there (including me) but why make a film with no sense, terrible out of the blue characters, lazy plot and ridiculous visual effects which lasts just over two hours?
The reasons for using the songs such as Dear Prudence, Strawberry Fields Forever and Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite just left me thinking this film should be called: Across the Foolishness, instead.
If you're looking for a film which leaves you with a cheesy vision of the 1960-70's (including "war scenes") or just want to hear some Beatle's song covers then this might be your kind of film...otherwise watch a more decent musical like The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
