Review of Across the Universe (2007) by Nadja S — 02 Feb 2015
This one surprised me. Having been recommended on various occasions (mostly by people whose opinion I respect), often very highly, I finally sat down and devoted the 2.5 hours necessary. It's a tad saccharine, glitzy, even reminiscent of some of the lesser flamboyant "Glee" moments, but the underlying plot, cleverly woven with intent to include the monumental Brit band's main characters.
..it's just too much fun, and when you get into it, you might get bleary eyed. The finale cannot be marred by Bono's vocal presence, as even he seems to pass this test with solid scoring.
