I personally prefer the Beatles doing Beatles music. I've never been a huge fan of covers. The film has a nice look to it, it is visually impressive. While some of the cover versions are good, others are downright awful (I'm looking at you Eddie Izzard).
The plot is really just a convoluted mess in order to get to the next song, and it ends on a very cliche note. I didn't hate it, I just wasn't terribly impressed by it.
